Curtain's Up is Knocklyon's newest Speech & Drama School.
My aim is to provide small class sizes and individual attention to allow children to flourish and promote confidence.
The Speech & Drama class is a place where children feel safe and are free to express themselves in a structured environment. Imagination and creativity are praised and encouraged. I set high standards for my pupils and I always spur them to go that little bit further and work that little bit harder. The drama class allows the child the freedom to learn, experiment and play.
The Speech & Drama class should be a place where everybody is equal and each child can express themselves without fear.
Our focus in Term One is on poetry and scripted performance, in preparation for the Irish Board of Speech & Drama exams. I'm delighted to say that last year, all students took part in the exams and did extremely well!
Term Two will focus on improvisation, communication, games, creative drama, vocal training, confidence building, mime and imagination.
